INSERTER CONTROL

The ICS INS functional module supports sophisticated inserting operations in a consistent manner on a wide range of inserting and onserting equipment (including drum inserters). Micro-zoning, TMC, and selective inserting are standard features as well as complete statistics and reporting on all good, bad, repair, miss, double, rejected, and inserted counts on a per insert basis. Control of multiple  inserters with load balancing, and on-demand sequencing are also standard.

A typical production sequence includes the following steps:

• Download or manual creation of manifest
• Pre-scheduling of zone production, process order and machine assignment
• Manual start of production or triggered from external interface (such as truck dock arrival)
• Execute production. Including repair, reorder, tracking, etc.
• Notification of real-time process status from any interface including counts, zone information, time to complete, LED displays, problem indicator lamps, etc
• Operator intervention allowed at all times to adjust quantities, insert information, sequence, etc.
• Full reporting on every zone processed, including quantities, start times, end times, and more
